This Korean book introduces all basic consonants and vowels and some simple characters and knowledge to children, young learners, and beginners and also who want to learn Korean for the first time in a simple way. It includes all the first-grade level Korean characters and some simple daily Korean characters. This book can be used as a self-study book, a teaching material by parents or tutors, a supplementary material in our country’s Korean language schools, centers, or a gift book from family, relatives, or friends.

The Korean characters and basic alphabet are introduced according to their degree of relevance to learner’s daily lives as well as according to the degree of complexity of the characters. The information provided for each character (pronunciation, stroke order, usage examples, and English translations) is kept to a minimum so that it will not overwhelm, young learners of Korean. There are 16 days to learn; each day introduces some simple character and basic consonants and vowels that use them. There are exercises and quiz after each day with friendly illustrations to help young learners and beginner easier to understand, enjoy, visualize, and remember it without memorizing, it will save in your long-term memory.

Learners can study a lesson each day or each week with only spending 5 minutes per day for each lesson. There are pronunciation guides for each character and the English translation is provided for each of the characters. By reading each character repeatedly without relying on pronunciation and translations, learners reinforce their acquisition for Korean. In addition, each new Korean character is accompanied by stroke-order diagrams, sample vocabulary, and boxed for writing practice purposes. Learners may also scan the QR code and use the audio to listen to each character’s pronunciation. It is our hope that learners will attain a feeling of accomplishment by completing all the lessons and learning to read each basic character with new character confidently.
